KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant Frustrate England with Gritty Stand on Day 3
Indian batters KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant carried on their composed partnership in the morning session, putting pressure on the English bowlers who found little support from the pitch.. Pant was the first to reach a half-century, equalling MS Dhoni’s record for the most overseas fifties by an Indian wicketkeeper.
As lunch neared, KL Rahul inched closer to his century. On the final ball before the break, Pant attempted a quick single to rotate the strike and give Rahul a chance to reach his hundred before the break. However, a direct hit from Ben Stokes ended Pant’s innings at 74 (119), breaking the 141-run partnership just before the interval.

KL Rahul Marks Another Century at Lords
Rahul completed his century shortly after the interval, reaching the milestone in 175 balls. It was his second Test century at Lord’s, following his 2021 knock, and once again earned him a place on the prestigious Lord’s honours board. But the celebrations were short-lived, as he was dismissed immediately after for 100, falling to Shoaib Bashir at the start of the second session.

Jadeja and Reddy Build Crucial Partnership Before Stokes Strikes Again
With half the side back in the pavilion, Ravindra Jadeja and debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy formed a patient 66-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Both batters absorbed pressure well until Ben Stokes returned to dismiss Reddy for 30 (91), providing another breakthrough.

Washington Sundar joined Jadeja next. The duo pushed India forward, with Jadeja bringing up his third consecutive half-century of the series and celebrating in trademark style with his sword celebration, drawing loud cheers from the Lord’s crowd.
